Our Doctors
Dr. Colleen Boylston
Dr. Colleen Boylston attended College of Charleston undergraduate and Creighton University School of
Medicine. She trained in pediatrics at MUSC and is founder and owner of Sweetgrass Pediatrics. She spends
her off time with her four children Madeleine, Joseph, Samuel, Jillian "Poppy" and her husband David.
Dr. Dino Copses
Dr. Dino Copses did his pediatric residency and medical school training at the Medical University of South
Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC. His wife Meg teaches english and creative writing at the College of
Charleston. They have two children, Olive and Pano Luca.
Dr. Sumita Debroy
Dr. Sumita Debroy was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended the University of Kansas for
undergraduate studies as well as medical school. Dr. Debroy completed her residency in Houston, Texas at
the University of Texas Health Science Center. Following residency, Dr. Debroy worked in Walterboro, South
Carolina for Edisto Pediatrics. She worked with the MUSC Parkwood Pediatrics prior coming to Sweetgrass
Pediatrics.
Dr. Debroy is married to her husband, Dr. Ron Banik, who is a dentist with
Carolina Family Dentistry.
Dr. Amy Dietrich
Dr. Amy Dietrich grew up in a large family in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended the University
of Notre Dame for her undergraduate studies and continued on at St. Louis University School
of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency training in 2003 along with her husband
at Wright State University/ Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. The last seven years she
has been practicing pediatrics around the country in Charleston, San Antonio, and Northern
California while dutifully following her husband to his Air Force assignments!
Amy is married to Jeff who is a local allergist in town and they have three children,
Caroline, Thomas, and Maddie. Amy and her family are very excited to return to Charleston and
call it "home" once and for all!
Dr. Farrow DuRant
Dr. Farrow DuRant grew up in Greenville, SC. She attended Wofford College for her undergraduate studies,
and University of South Carolina School of Medicine for medical school. She completed residency training
at LSU New Orleans, where she served at Chief Resident. She is married to Robert, and they have three
children Harriett, Rees and Counts.
Dr. Kate Herwig
Dr. Kate Herwig was born and raised in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN with her two younger sisters and her parents.
She attended Macalester College in St Paul where she studied biology, Spanish and played NCAA basketball. She
then spent a year doing research at the University of Minnesota Cancer Center before moving to Philadelphia, PA
to attend medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics
at MUSC, here in Charleston where she currently lives with her husband. They have one child, Dylan James. She enjoys
spending her free time traveling, SCUBA diving, running and cooking.
Dr. Casey King
Dr. Casey King attended Clemson University for undergraduate studies. She went on to earn her Master's Degree
from the Citadel in psychology. Dr. King completed medical school training and pediatric residency at the
Medical University of South Carolina. She and her husband, Will, are both from the Charleston area and have
one child, Whitfield.
Dr. Lisa Lopez
Dr. Lopez attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta. She completed her pediatric
residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Lopez is married to her husband, Carlos and
they have one child, Diego.
Dr. Jenna McCall
Dr. Jenna McCall attended Clemson University for undergraduate and the Medical University of South
Carolina for medical school. She trained in pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina. She
spends her off time with her son, Bishop, husband Robert and golden retriever Blakeley.
Dr. Benjamin "Benjie" Rodgers
Dr. Benjamin Rodgers was raised in Moncks Corner. He attended Clemson University prior to graduating from the Medical
University of South Carolina. He completed his pediatric residency at the sixth largest children's hospital in
the country, Arkansas Children's Hospital. He met his future wife, Kelly Rodgers, while in Little Rock. They then
moved to Walterboro, South Carolina and practiced general pediatrics for 9 years. Dr. Rodgers completed a sports
medicine fellowship at Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he served as one of the team physicians for
Rutgers University. The Dr.'s Rodgers have three daughters Hannah, Ellie, and Amelia. He is excited about treating
your children with any sport related concerns.
Dr. Kelly Rodgers
Dr. Kelly Rodgers grew up in Powder Springs, GA. She attended Berry College prior to graduating from the Medical College
of Georgia. She completed her pediatric residency at the sixth largest children's hospital in the country, Arkansas
Children's Hospital. She remained on staff at ACH while her husband completed his residency. They then moved to
Walterboro and practiced general pediatrics for 9 years in Beaufort and Walterboro. This past year she practiced in
Hazlet, NJ while the "Mister Dr. Rodgers" completed a sports medicine fellowship. She is the mother of three daughters
Hannah, Ellie, and Amelia. She is very excited to be back in the Lowcountry and is looking forward to caring for the
children of Sweetgrass Pediatrics.
Dr. Kim Sudheimer
Dr. Kim Sudheimer grew up in Toledo, Ohio and attended medical school at Ohio University. Kim moved to
Charleston for her training in Pediatrics at MUSC Children's Hospital three years ago and decided to make
this her home. Her professional interests include advocacy and international medicine, spending time in
Kenya and Tanzania. She enjoyed swim team and playing clarinet and piano as a child and still enjoys being
active and listening to good music.
Dr. Tina Tripp
Dr. Tina Tripp is a graduate of Columbia College of South Carolina. She
attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and
Biosciences. Following medical school, Dr. Tripp completed resident
training at Mercer University School of Medicine. Dr. Tripp has been with
Sweetgrass Pediatrics since 2008 and is married to her husband, Sam, who is
a nurse anesthetist. They have one child, Annabelle Grace. In her spare time, Dr. Tripp enjoys running, and along
with her husband, has competed in numerous distance races.
