Sharon Kelly-Brown attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergraduate studies. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina. Sharon is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.

Sharon's professional career started in nursing where she was a registered nurse on the infant/toddler medical-surgical unit in the Children's Hospital at the Medical University of South Carolina for 10 years. She then worked 7 years as a CPNP at MUSC's Pediatric Endocrinology clinic. Most recently Sharon worked as a nursing instructor at Trident Technical College for 3 years.
