Rachel McDowell grew up in Charlotte, NC. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina.

For approximately six years as a registered nurse, Rachel worked as an RN in the pediatric hematology/oncology/BMT unit at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC and at MUSC in Charleston, SC.

Since 2014, she has worked in the Charleston area as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in a primary care setting. Rachel has also been an instructor for current pediatric nurse practitioner students. Rachel's professional interests include preventative healthcare, positive parenting, pediatric wellness and nutrition.

Rachel and her husband Jeff have three children- Aidan, Emmy, and Sofia. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, singing, and enjoying the Charleston food scene.
