Kristen Garrett grew up in a small town in Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. For approximately ten years as a registered nurse, Kristen worked in several Neonatal Intensive Care Units across the country.

Since 2013, Kristen has loved working in the Charleston area as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She has special interests in nutrition, child and adolescent mental health, and childhood obesity prevention and treatment.

Kristen and her husband have four children, Makena, Adelynn, Delaney, and Austin. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching her daughters play softball, reading, and relaxing on the beach.
