Amanda Polhemus

Amanda earned her undergraduate degree in Human and Organizational Development and her Master’s in Nursing from Vanderbilt University. She practiced as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Washington, DC area and moved to Charleston in 2023. She also earned her Primary Care Mental Health Specialist certification and enjoys the beach, local restaurants, and staying active.

Amanda grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Human and Organizational Development followed by her Master’s in Nursing. She later moved to Washington, DC, where she practiced as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in several areas of Maryland.
In 2023, Amanda relocated to the Charleston area and also earned her Primary Care Mental Health Specialist certification. This advanced certification focuses on the early recognition, intervention, and collaborative care of children and adolescents with behavioral health concerns.
Amanda is passionate about supporting children and families through all stages of development while promoting both physical and emotional well-being. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the beach, exploring Charleston restaurants, and fondly remembers the fun of going to soccer practice as a child.
