She is committed to compassionate, comprehensive care for children and families and enjoys travel, SCUBA diving, running, cooking, and time with her two children.

Dr. Kate Herwig grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her two younger sisters and her parents. She earned her undergraduate degree at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she studied biology and Spanish and played NCAA basketball. She spent a year conducting research at the University of Minnesota Cancer Center before attending medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her pediatric residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Dr. Herwig is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive pediatric care to children and supporting families in promoting healthy development.
She has two children, Dylan and Zoey, and enjoys traveling, SCUBA diving, running, and cooking in her free time.
