Karlayne Dufault was born and raised in West Columbia, South Carolina, and moved to Charleston in 1997. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Karlayne worked at MUSC for 18 years in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Child Abuse Pediatrics and has experience teaching undergraduate nursing at Trident Technical College and the MUSC College of Nursing. She spent the past seven years in primary care pediatrics and enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients and their families.
She and her husband have two sons and a yellow Labrador named Captain. In their free time, they enjoy traveling, spending time on the water, and watching their sons play basketball, football, and golf.
